“Whether you are walking, swimming or hiking – do more than make it to the finish line…Fulfill someone’s dream or cause close to your heart”

Hello Friends,

We all live with dreams, some are close to our heart, and haunt us every night. Sometimes, they seem to be smaller than a child’s dream who wants to break barriers and just learn and grow. I thought, helping others achieving their little ambitions in life can fuel us achieve our big dreams!

I am attempting to summit the Majestic Mount Rainer this summer with Asha for Education and a group of other volunteers in an effort to raise funds to help fulfill the dreams of several hundreds of unprivileged children back in India. These kids do not have the same luck as we did to go to school and study well and live the dream, while I live my childhood dream of climbing majestic mountains.

“It gives me immense pleasure and proud moment if you can be part of my journey.”

A bit about my expedition:

Mount Rainier is an active volcano and the most heavily glaciated peak in the contiguous USA with 26 Glaciers and the highest mountain (14411 ft.) in Washington State.

Summiting Mountain Demands! Climbing Mount Rainier is difficult, involving traversing several dangerous Crevasses and largest glaciers in the U.S. south of Alaska and require two to three days to reach the summit which demands endurance, strength and cardiovascular fitness.

My Preparation: As part of my preparation for summit I have been hiking every weekend since February and completed several hikes (Mailbox peak, Mount Si, Granite Mountain, Mt. Tenerife, West Tiger Cable Line, etc.) multiple times on I-90 corridor, Camp Muir, Mount St. Helens and Mount Baker (10,781 ft.) with combined elevation gain of 73,385 ft. Attended snow skills training program. I am also training extensively to strengthen my injured back as I have to carry 35-40lb back pack during my summit.

I am giving my best to fulfill my goal, but the true driver always being the dreams of the underprivileged at Asha!

Why Asha?:

Asha (means HOPE) is a secular, non-profit, an all-volunteer driven organization working towards socio-economic change in India. Asha brings hope and helps materialize many dreams for those underprivileged children through their several projects. Their main focus is to empower people in poor communities through education primarily for women and children. The GRAVIS project is one such project in Thar desert in Western India, supported by Asha and the climbing program.
