Climbing Mount Rainier with My Son — For Education, For Impact
Hi! I’m Neha Jain, and this year I’ve set myself a life-changing challenge: to summit Mount Rainier (14,411 ft) — one of the most iconic and demanding glaciated peaks in North America.
But this climb is more than just a personal milestone. I’m doing it with my 18-year-old son, Atishay, as part of Team Asha, to support something close to both our hearts: access to education for underprivileged children in India.
We’ve been training hard for months — early morning hikes, strength work, and pushing our limits — but our motivation comes from a deeper place. We’ve both experienced the power of education in shaping our lives. Sadly, millions of children in India still lack this basic right. That’s why we’ve partnered with Asha for Education, a trusted nonprofit that delivers grassroots educational support to communities in need.
Why Asha for Education?
• Asha is 100% volunteer-run, with 95%+ of all donations going directly to field projects.
• They support transformative schools like Vikasana Bridge School, which helps children from marginalized communities re-enter the education system.
• Asha consistently earns a 100% rating on Charity Navigator for transparency, accountability, and financial integrity.
🎯 Our Goal
We are aiming to raise at least $1,700, and to double the impact, I will personally match every donation up to that amount.
Every dollar goes toward building classrooms, training teachers, providing school supplies, and ensuring that a child gets the chance to learn, grow, and dream bigger.
🙏 We invite you to be a part of this journey.
Your support — no matter how small — will go a long way. And if your employer offers donation matching, your impact can go even further.
