My hiking journey started from the childhood days in the historic and beautiful Western mountain ranges of India. The combination of wilderness beauty and the thrill of adventure was too tempting to resist even when I was a kid. Coming to Seattle, a region fortified by the magnificent Cascade mountain range, graduated my interest from amateur hiking to serious mountaineering. What started as a childhood crush has now turned into a full blown love affair. What else the mountains offered – in my case a life partner. Last year, I climbed Mt. Baker with my then girlfriend, proposed her at the summit and we descended the mountain as happily engaged couple. Now married, we will be channeling our climbing passion for a great cause by taking on the mightiest and most enthralling beasts of all – the Mt. Rainier with a non profit Asha.
Why Asha?
Asha is a non-profit voluntary organization. Asha’s mission is to catalyze socio-economic change in India through the education of under-privileged children. Asha has over 50 chapters in USA/Europe. How you can help
I have committed to raise minimum 1500$ for Asha on top of my own contributions. Please note that all my climbing related expenditures (climbing gears, guide fees, permits, travel) are self-funded. 100% of your donations will go to Asha and are tax exempted. No amount is a small amount. $20-$30 will fund one month of a child’s education and living expense in India.
