I like to assign myself goals and commitments each year to help me spend my time, energy and resources more meaningfully. Generally, I commit myself to achieving some sort of personal goal so that I learn something and end the year as a slightly better version of myself. For some time now, I have been looking for a way that I can do my small bit to positively impact our society and community. I’ve found that with Asha, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to bringing about socio-economic change through the support of basic education for under privileged kids in India.
This year, I’ve joined forces with Team Asha and other climbers who feel the same way with a goal to raise awareness and funds for this cause by climbing Mt.Baker, which sits at 10,781 ft. This program has given me purpose and I’ve been training hard since the start of the year to achieve our goal. I have personally covered the cost of the climb, including all the gear and the training involved.
I am looking to raise a minimum of $750 for Asha’s cause and I need your support. I myself will be donating towards the cause and I encourage you to as well. 100% of your donations will go towards Asha’s many projects supporting basic education in rural India. No amount is too small. It all adds up to provide someone the opportunity to have a meaningful and prosperous life and in turn, impact many others. With your donation, please remember to add “Team Asha Climber 2018 – Shashank”. Thank you for support.
