Hi there!

My name is Satish Devan. In recent years I have been challenging myself by taking part in multiple fitness events like half-marathon runs and double century bike rides to bring awareness and raise funds for non-profit organisations. I do this because I strongly believe in giving back to community and help them who are in need.

This year I am going a extra mile and challenging myself to do STP 2019 that’s happening on July 13-14. I will be riding 206 miles from Seattle to Portland to raise awareness and funds for Asha.

Asha for Education began as an effort to provide basic education to underprivileged children throughout India. Today that effort has grown beyond mere basics to provide a better foundation for local communities to combat the perils of illiteracy, poverty and exploitation. Asha has touched the lives of thousands of children, and their families, providing them with tools and means of empowerment.

Why Asha for Education?

Asha for Education has more than 50 chapters across 3 continents – all working towards the mission of ‘Socio-economic equality through the education of underprivileged children. Asha is a “minimal overhead” organization, driven by volunteers (including the administrative expenses) ensuring that more than 95% of your donations are sent to our partner groups in India. Asha for Education has consistently secured a 100% rating on Charity Navigator, a well-established database that evaluates non-profit organizations on the basis of transparency, accountability and financial parameters.

I am fortunate to be able to contribute to these efforts, and now I invite you to do the same! I am asking you to sponsor my ride with whatever contribution you can make. All donations are tax deductible, and the organization is registered with many corporate employers for donation-matching programs. Please help me reach my modest goal of raising $500 with any contribution you can make. Every dollar donated makes a huge difference for so many children.
