International Treks

Asha is proud to launch a new program that explores adventures to Everest Base Camp (EBC) in Nepal and to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, rises on the Tanzania – Kenya border, well into the Eastern half of the African continent. Towering above the Tanzanian plains so close to the equator, the snowclad mountain leads a spectacular existence on the African plains. So spectacular that well into the nineteenth century, much of mainland Europe refused to believe eyewitness accounts of its existence. In our own time, Kili (as it is affectionately called by the climbing community) is a proud member of two exclusive clubs viz. seven summits of the world (composed of the tallest mountain in each of the seven continents) and seven natural wonders of the world.
Elevation: 19,341 feet
Number of days on a trip: 7-9 days

Climbing to 19,340’ on Mount Kilimanjaro is another international adventure being introduced this year. Machame is among the most scenic routes to the top of Kilimanjaro. The route traverses through five climatic zones including spectacular cloud forests in the lower ranges. It also offers great acclimatization opportunity, as it naturally follows the mountaineer’s caveat of walking high and sleeping low.

Everest Base Camp

Everest Base Camp is one of the most popular adventure destinations in the world. Spectacular peaks and valleys of the mighty Himalayas and loyalty and friendliness of its inhabitants (the Sherpas) combine to make the Everest region (Khumbu) an unforgettable experience for any visitor.
Elevation: 17,600 feet
Number of days on a trip: 17 days

The breath-taking views of Himalayan peaks and Sherpa culture in Khumbhu region of Nepal is an exhilarating experience. EBC is at 17,700’, the highest base of the tallest peak in the world, Mount Everest. The journey begins in Kathmandu, taking you through Sherpa villages hugging to the hillsides, walk in between fields of wheat, barley, potatoes, and cabbage, at times covered with snow and trail that crosses back and forth above the raging Dudhkoshi River on narrow suspension bridges lined with colorful fluttering prayer flags.
