On the morning of May 20, 2020, I woke up with a bad headache and determination to physically challenge myself on an arduous outdoor adventure. 1 hour later, I found myself hiking Mailbox, one of the ‘hardest’ day hikes on I90 Corridor, in stormy, rainy, and snowy weather, with only 1 fellow hiker ahead of me. It was a humbling hike that led me to the discovery of unparalleled peace and joy in the outdoors. What started as a challenge became my passion and I started hiking almost every week. The benefits of recharging and reconnecting with myself kept me going despite the demands of my new job. Soon I found myself researching for bigger climbs when I came across the Asha Seattle community that not only has a climbing program but also focuses on a noble cause close to my heart: improving the state of education in rural and economically backward areas in India. I am seeking your help to contribute to Asha to allow me to raise funds as I attempt to climb Mount Rainier with the Asha team’s guidance this year.
I would like to clarify that the funds being raised here are not financing my climbs in any way. I have provided the finances for the gear and guide services for those myself. All the funds raised will be exclusively used for Asha for Education projects.
I am asking you to make whatever contribution you think is appropriate. Any amount no matter how small helps to provide a brighter future for someone in need. All donations are tax-deductible (Tax Id 770 45 9884), and the organization is registered with many corporate employers for donation matching programs. With your donation please add the following comment – “Team Asha Climber 2021 – Ankita Agarwal”. Thank you so much for your support!
