Aditya Kumar

I will be climbing Mount Baker in 2017 with Team Asha. I have been hiking in Pacific Northwest in last summer after moving to Seattle in 2016 and have grown to love this region for its natural beauty. The mountains have always had a special place in my heart and I want to pursue mountaineering passionately. I have bigger peaks in my mind but i am starting my dream with Mt Baker. What makes this climb even more special is that I will also raise money for Asha which is catalyzing socio-economic change in India through education.

This summer, I would be accompanying about twenty other climbers to the summit of Baker with the Asha group. This climb is not just for myself but also for a dear cause.

How can you help?

My goal is to raise minimum of $500 for Asha and I need the support of my friends and co-workers. Your encouragement for my efforts by donating for the cause will be a great motivation.  To put expenses into perspective, $20-$30s will fund one month of a child’s education and living expense in India.

To clarify, You are not financing my hike. I have paid my dues to guide services. This raise is very important for a cause, the cause we all climbers are dedicating our climb to.

Donate towards my Mt. Baker climb – 100% of every dollar that you donate goes directly to “Asha for Education”

I really appreciate your help. Thanks!

What is Asha For Education ?

Asha is a non-profit voluntary organization working on more than 400 projects in India over the last 23 years disbursing over $32.3 million – all towards the mission of ‘Socio-economic equality through the education of underprivileged children ‘. There are thousands of villages in India and other parts of the world where education does not reach kids – for social, economic and cultural reasons. Asha has been playing an impactful role in providing education to such children.

GRAVIS is one of their special projects which focuses on improving the socio-economic conditions of villagers in Thar Desert of Western India. It is providing child and adult education, forming women self-help groups, establishing water harvesting wells, organizing health camps and so on. Here’s more on the Asha+Gravis effort – short video.

Any donation you give will make an immense difference.

Thank you for supporting Asha for this worthy and noble cause.
