Namaste!
I am Amruta Shah and I am attempting a 206-mile bike ride from Seattle to Portland (STP) this summer – this year is STP’s 40th anniversary!
This will be my first long distance ride – which is considered one of the best cycling events in the nation by Bicycling Magazine. The STP bike ride connects two great American cities via a route that traces a path through scenic valleys, dense forests, and the bucolic farmlands of western Washington and Oregon.
With the help from Team Asha volunteers, I started my bike training in February, which involved riding over weekends and gradually increasing the distance every week. It has been a lot of fun riding (and huffing & puffing) so far 😊. These long rides are helping me stretch my limits – and giving me opportunity to explore beautiful Pacific Northwest. I feel very privileged and lucky that I got opportunities in life to fulfill some of my dreams. Education is the key that enabled me to reach this stage. It’s time to give back to society. Let us support the noble cause of ASHA (meaning: hope) to empower under-privileged communities through education – that will enable them to Dream Big – beyond the basic-necessities of life.
My goal this year is to raise $500. I would appreciate your help in reaching this goal. No amount is small, and 100% of your donation will go to funding the projects in India.
Asha for Education has a 100 rating (perfect score) on charity navigator so you can be sure your donation is going to be used properly.
