Pedaling for Potential: Seattle to Portland for Children’s Education
Two wheels. 206 miles. One mission: transforming futures.
This July 11–12, Ashish and Sonal are bicycling from Seattle to Portland — over 206 miles in just two days — to support Asha for Education, a nonprofit dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children in India.
We are training very hard to achieve this goal. Yes, the ride is long. Yes, it will test our endurance, discipline, and grit. But the real challenge — and the real reason we ride — lies far beyond the finish line.
Why We Ride
Millions of underprivileged children in India still struggle to access basic education. Asha for Education works tirelessly to change that by funding schools, teachers, supplies, and community programs that give these children the chance to learn, dream, and build a better life.
Education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty — and together, we can put that tool in a child’s hands.
Every Mile Has Meaning
Every mile we pedal is a step toward opportunity. Every hill we climb reflects the daily hurdles these underprivileged children face just to attend school. Every donation fuels not just our ride, but a child’s future — and even a small contribution can go a long way in changing a child’s life.
A Fun Perspective
At 206 miles, the STP distance is so long that in Europe you could start in Austria and ride through Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia — and finish in Italy. That’s six countries in the same distance we will cover between Seattle and Portland.
