Climbing My First Mountain for a Cause – Support My Mt. Adams Journey
In 2022, I started hiking simply to give my husband some company. What began as a small step outside my comfort zone has grown into something much bigger. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve gained the confidence to take it to the next level—I’m attempting my very first mountain climb: Mt. Adams.
For someone who never considered herself athletic or outdoorsy, this journey has been incredibly meaningful. Along the way, I’ve met inspiring people, built new friendships, and found a community that constantly encourages me to push beyond my limits.
What makes this climb even more special is that I’m doing it for a cause close to my heart. I’ve joined Team Asha, where climbers train for 18–20 weeks and raise funds to change lives. As I push myself up a mountain, I think about the children who face challenges far greater — and I climb for them. If my journey can help even one child access education, then every early morning training hike, every sore muscle, and every steep climb will be worth it.
Asha for Education is a volunteer-driven nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to driving socio-economic change through education for underprivileged children. The Seattle chapter supports 27 active education projects and trains participants for mountaineering, marathons, and cycling events like Seattle to Portland. The majority of every dollar raised goes directly to the children it serves
Please consider donating and putting a little extra pep in my step. Every contribution — big or small — helps provide a child with the education they deserve.
Thank you for cheering me on and helping put a little extra motivation in every step I take toward the summit!
