Hi!
We are Deepali & Pushpak, and we are biking to raise funds for Asha. It is an honor for us to volunteer our time and efforts to help support the various projects that Asha for Education supports. What began as an effort to provide basic education to underprivileged children throughout India, has grown into a effort to provide a better foundation for local communities to combat the perils of illiteracy, poverty and exploitation. Asha has touched the lives of thousands of children, and their families, providing them with tools and means of empowerment.
Over the years, our engagement with Asha has grown from incidental contributions to a firm commitment. We have personally witnessed the transformations that the projects we support provide to the beneficiaries, through “Vigyan Ashram” in Pabal, or the “Jeevan Vidya” Girl’s Boarding school in Nandurbar — communities in rural parts that were previously underserved. Deepali is also the project steward for the Jeevan Vidya and Janseva Mandal projects at Nandurbar, and Pushpak is one of the coordinators of the TeamAsha Biking program in Seattle, WA.
Why Asha for Education?
Asha is a “minimal overhead” organization, driven by volunteers (including the administrative expenses) ensuring that more than 95% of your donations are sent to our partner groups in India. Asha for Education has consistently secured a 100% rating on Charity Navigator, a well established database that evaluates non-profit organizations on the basis of transparency, accountability and financial parameters.
We are fortunate to be able to contribute to these efforts, and now we invite you to do the same! We’re asking you to sponsor our ride with whatever contribution you can make. All donations are tax deductible, and the organization is registered with many corporate employers for donation-matching programs. In addition, we promise to match your donations, dollar-to-a-dollar. Together, we can double the impact of your donations! Any contribution you make will help achieve our fundraising goals of $750 and go a long mile in bringing smiles, education, well-being and awareness to children and their communities.
