Hello everyone!
After last year’s successful two-day bike ride from Seattle to Portland (STP), we are taking up a challenge to do this in one day. This year again, we will be riding these 200+ miles as a part of Team Asha. We are taking this opportunity to become a charity-rider for Asha. Our goal is to raise at least $1000 for supporting the projects that Asha has undertaken and we are requesting your generous contributions to get there. We also promise to match all the funds raised in this process, dollar-for-a-dollar.
Why Asha?
Asha is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to bring about socio-economic change in India, primarily through means of education. It is a zero-overhead organization which means your entire donation goes to fund projects. All the day-to-day expenses of running the organization and arranging fundraising activities, such as the STP training program, are borne by volunteers.
To put the funds collected into a proper perspective, only $40 per month will help support a primary school of about 25-30 children. So, every dollar goes a long way in providing basic education to the less fortunate children. Together, we can make a difference!

If you are an employee of socially aware corporations such as Microsoft, Google, Intel (or similar), your contribution could be even more valuable! Your employer has committed to match your donation dollar-to-dollar, typically above a fairly low threshold ($25) – thereby doubling the impact of your generosity!
