As I looked to turning the page on another year of life, this year I wanted to do something different than a normal celebration. I wanted to do something that would help me becoming a better version of me while helping make a difference in the world. To do this, I joined the non-profit organization Asha. Together, we are raising funds to support educating underprivileged children across India.
How am I do this? Great question. As a means to get you, my friends, family, and co-workers to help raise $2,000, over the course of 2 summers I’ll be climbing and summiting the 5 volcanic peaks in Washington State for total elevation of over 56,000 ft!
Any donation amount you are able to provide towards the cause will go a long way in helping support children improve their outlook in life by creating spaces for them to learn and get an education. This experience has also pushed my limits mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually as I trained, took step-after-step to reach each summit, and complete the journey home each time.
As far as my progress goes, in 2019 I have spent countless weekends training since January and successfully summited Mt. Baker (10,781 ft), Mt. St. Helens (8,363 ft), and Glacier Peak (10,541 ft and 38 mile round trip). I’m eagerly looking forward to finishing my journey by summiting Mt. Adams (12,281 ft) and the prize Mt. Rainer (14,410 ft – highest peak in the 48 states) in summer of 2020!
Thank you so much for your support!
