Back in February when I registered for the Seattle to Portland bike ride, I never thought I would come this far! I thought it would be some weekends of biking and I will eventually pack upJ. Well here I am, geared up to take on this personal challenge to bike 204 miles! It has been an adventure training over the last couple of months and I am sure you have heard me talk about my weekend adventures and seen me nursing my aches and pains.
While I am extremely excited to take on this personal challenge, I would like to take this opportunity to also raise funds and demonstrate my commitment towards ‘Asha for Education’.
For every mile I ride, my aim is to raise $5 and I will contribute 100% of the funds raised by this effort to ‘Asha for Education’. You can donate using the “Donate” link on this page or you can hand over cash or checks made to “Asha for Education”. If your employer matches your donation 100% like Microsoft, it will be doubled instantly.
All donations are tax deductible, and ‘Asha for Education’ is registered with many companies for donation-matching programs.
Why do I support ‘Asha for Education’?
Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. In keeping with this focus, our volunteers are involved with and support projects that are secular and have an education-related component to them.
‘Asha for Education’ works with a variety of project partners and community groups in many educational and development related endeavors. Their mission is to catalyze socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children. They not only to look at issues concerning access to education, but also to ensure that every child has access to an education that is meaningful.
