Hello all,
On the weekend of July 16-17, 2022 I will be participating in the long-distance bike ride from Seattle to Portland (STP), which is 206 miles long. My goal is to complete this ride over two days, for which I have been training since March 2022 and gradually cranking up the distance every week towards my 2-day goal. More about the ride can be found here : https://cascade.org/node/6801
My bigger goal for the STP ride is to raise funds and awareness for ‘Asha for Education’, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing about socio-economic change in India primarily through education. Asha is helping local communities combat the perils of illiteracy, poverty, and exploitation by providing them with tools and means of empowerment. More about Asha and the Seattle chapter can be found here : https://seattle.ashanet.org/
How can you help? You can help by contributing towards my modest fundraising goal amount for Asha for Education. Every dollar you donate will go a long way in making a huge positive impact in the lives of underprivileged children.
Today there are many organizations for us to choose from to donate our hard-earned dollars, so Why choose “Asha for Education”?
Asha is a “minimal overhead” organization, driven by volunteers (including the administrative expenses), ensuring that more than 95% of our donations are sent to their partner groups in India. Asha for Education has consistently secured a 100% rating on Charity Navigator, a well-established database that evaluates non-profit organizations on the basis of transparency, accountability and financial parameters.
