Most of you reading this page might know me already 🙂
If not, my name is Ramesh and I will be biking from Seattle to Vancouver as part of TeamAsha RSVP 2017 team. You could ask why ASHA? Why can’t I ride along with thousands of others participating in RSVP. Well, I had the same question/thought when I registered for RSVP. Since my motivation was to just to get myself enjoy biking and get fit (if possible ;)). The same thought vanished when someone introduce me to TeamAsha. Once I learned the amount of impact they make for the ones who are unprivileged to get the basic necessities that we take for granted in our day to day life. I said to myself at the very least I should participate and help the cause even though it is going to be a very small impact from my side. I guess, you know by now what is it going to be my next ask 🙂
I have committed to raise a minimum of $1000 through my ride. 97%+ of your donations will go to Asha, to fund projects in India . You can read more about the projects from Seattle Chapter.
Are you ready to make an impact along with me towards a good cause?
Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education of underprivileged children in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. They work with a variety of project partners and community groups in many educational and development related endeavors.
It is amazing how far a dollar can go in helping those people who struggle each day for the most basic necessities of life (food, water and a roof to live under). Consider this:
$10 per month will help a child get basic education
$19 per month will cover the education and living expenses of a child with disability
$40 per month will help support a primary school of about 25-30 children
All donations are tax deductible, and Asha is registered with many companies for donation-matching programs. Any contribution you make will help achieve these biking goals and go a long mile in bringing smiles, education, well-being and awareness to children and their communities.
So whatever you contribute, you can rest assured that every dollar will make a positive difference in someone’s life.
