“The essence of a happy life and peaceful society lies in one sentence – What can I give?”

Training hard, riding more than 1000 miles even before my actual rides, creating awareness for education is my way of giving to the community.
My Rides 2023 —-
-Flying wheels 100 miles on June 3
-STP Seattle to Portland 206 miles on July 15-16.
-RSVP Ride from Seattle  to Vancouver 191 miles Aug 26-27
Why am I doing this ?
-It gives me joy when I share and support others in need .
-I am raising funds for an NGO named “Asha for Education”. Education enables all children to achieve their highest potential as individuals, serve effectively as citizens of a free society, and successfully compete in a changing global marketplace.
Asha for Education is a 99% volunteer-driven, non-profit whose mission is “To catalyze socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children.”

I am riding with purpose and passion. Please donate and help me in reaching my goal.
Here are some ways that your donation to Asha will help:
$25 – $50 can supply food and hope to a child for a year,
$50 – $100 can cover the cost of learning for 6 children through an elementary school experience.
$100 – $150 can cover the cost of education and food for one child for a year.
What I gain??
Cycling not only teaches me life lessons, gives me confidence and keeps me healthy.
While I am on my bike, I learn that life is not a bed of roses… obstacles will come. I won’t always get smooth and flat roads.
It teaches me not to focus on obstacles but lift my butt up on bumps or pedal slowly and harder one at a time while up the hill and keep going. I enjoy going down the hill after a steep climb more.
Challenges will come, I might crash , I’ll be out of breath, the heat might slow me down but giving up is not an option.
Last year when I had a big fall on a red light, I was very scared but with the help of my fellow riders and their encouragement, we fixed my bike, I forgot about the pain, got up and finished my first 50 mile ride.
I get to experience the beauty of my surroundings which is not possible when I am in the car. I feel connected to nature . Beautiful rolling hills, corn fields , animals , flowers and much more . Going slow and finding joy in every small thing I see during my journey makes my ride memorable.
It teaches me how to love and care for my needs and my bike’s too .  I make sure I keep water, food , a windcheater, sunscreen and other essentials for myself and for my bike a spare tube and tool kit for emergencies. I make sure to keep it clean, pump air and lube the chains when I am home.
While riding our focus is most of time in the front not in the back. To maintain balance and for smooth ride, one needs to keep moving forward.
As the saying goes Life is like riding a bicycle; you don’t fall off until you stop pedaling. In life, too, whatever the situation, you need to keep moving ahead. You may choose to take things slowly but always move forward. Make progress every day, even if it’s something small. Make progress a habit, not an occasion.
A child without education is like a bird without wings.
Let’s give children hope and wings.  Please click the “Donate Now” blue button below and donate.
