I am Adit Joglekar and I am 11 years old. On the weekend of July16-17, 2022 my mom (Sangeeta Venkatachalam) and I will be participating in the bike ride from Seattle to Portland (STP), which is 206 miles long. We have been training very hard to achieve this goal. Which means that we both go on bike rides every Saturday and sometimes even Sundays. My mom had done STP already once in 2019 and I would like to follow in her footsteps. The experience she had training for STP with Team Asha was great and that was another reason we decided to train with them again. It has been tough throughout the way but STP will be worth it.
One more goal we have for the STP ride is to raise funds for the charitable organization ‘Asha for Education’. Asha is here to help underprivileged children throughout India. Asha is helping local communities combat the perils of illiteracy, poverty, and exploitation by providing them with tools and means of empowerment. Another reason I am training with Team Asha is because they are very experienced with STP and know their way around trails. So far I have enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to the finale.
How can you help? You can help by contributing towards our modest fundraising goal amount for Asha for Education. Every dollar you donate will go a long way in making a huge positive impact in lives of underprivileged children.
Today there are many organizations for us to choose from to donate our hard-earned dollars, so Why choose Asha for Education?
Besides their noble cause and work at the grass root levels, Asha is a “minimal overhead” organization, driven by volunteers (including the administrative expenses) ensuring that more than 95% of our donations are sent to their partner groups in India. Asha for Education has consistently secured a 100% rating on Charity Navigator, a well-established database that evaluates non-profit organizations on the basis of transparency, accountability and financial parameters
