Hello all,
On the weekend of July 15-16, 2023, I will be embarking on a challenging adventure—the long-distance bike ride from Seattle to Portland (STP), which is 206 miles long. I have been training hard to achieve this goal with a community of enthusiasts and like-minded people in the Seattle area.
Now, let me take a moment to tell you why this ride and the cause I am supporting mean so much to me. Over the past few years, as I navigate my way through my mid-life phase, I have been contemplating how I can make a meaningful contribution to society and align myself with a cause I truly care about. It was during this introspection that a close friend introduced me to the ‘Asha for Education’ Seattle chapter and the inspiring initiatives they are involved in.
Asha for Education originated as an effort to provide basic education to underprivileged children throughout India, with the firm belief that education is the key to socioeconomic change. Today, Asha is helping local communities combat illiteracy, poverty, and exploitation by equipping them with the tools and means of empowerment.
I have been a proud supporter of Asha for Education for several years now, and I have decided to combine my passion for fitness with a greater purpose by participating in the STP ride to raise funds and awareness for this remarkable organization. It has been an incredible journey riding alongside like-minded individuals, building endurance, improving my fitness levels, and enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
My goal for this ride is to raise $1600 for Asha for Education. This is where you come in—I kindly ask for your support in contributing towards my fundraising goal for this worthy cause. Every dollar you donate will have a tremendous impact on the lives of underprivileged children.
With so many charitable organizations to choose from, you may be wondering why Asha for Education stands out. In addition to their noble cause and grassroots work, Asha operates with minimal overhead. Driven by passionate volunteers, including covering administrative expenses, they ensure that over 95% of our donations are sent directly to their partner groups in India. It’s worth noting that Asha for Education has consistently received a 100% rating on Charity Navigator, a well-established database that evaluates nonprofit organizations based on transparency, accountability, and financial parameters.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this message and considering making a donation. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these deserving children.
Please note that Asha is a registered 501(c) organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.
Warmest regards,
Sumeet Kumar
