Surbhi Bansal 2025

My Story – Climbing with Purpose

In early 2025, I committed to something bold — to train for and climb Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, and Mount Adams. But this journey isn’t just about reaching the top of a mountain. It’s about using each step to help create educational opportunities for underprivileged children in India.

I’ve partnered with Asha for Education, a nonprofit that supports grassroots educational projects across India. Asha is entirely volunteer-run, and more than 95% of donations go directly to the communities that need them most. That efficiency and impact really spoke to me.

Since February, I’ve been out on the trails almost every weekend. I recently summited Mount St. Helens (8,200 ft) — a tough but incredibly rewarding climb. It showed me how far I’ve come, both in strength and purpose. Training has taught me resilience, but more importantly, it’s reminded me how privileged I’ve been to access education — something so many kids are still denied.

That’s why I’ve set a goal to raise $2,600 for Asha. Every dollar will go toward programs that help children learn, grow, and dream bigger. You can see the projects that Asha Seattle supports here.

Whether it’s $5 or $50, your donation truly matters — not just to me, but to a child who’s waiting for their chance to learn.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we can summit more than mountains.
