I moved to PNW in 2018, and hiking came naturally as a way to step outdoors and meet new people! Been hiking recreationally for a while, this is my first year where I am taking it up a notch and attempting to summit a big mountain.
I am climbing Mount Baker this year and I am doing it in partnership with the non-profit organization Asha. As a part of the program, I have been going out on training hikes every weekend since Feb 2022. Snow skills, packing and using gear, nutrition and a lot of other minute things play a vital role in training for summits. Asha volunteers have been helping me learn all of it.
Together, we are raising money to support educating underprivileged children in India. Any donations towards the cause will go a long way in terms of supporting the kids and motivating us to push ourselves to do this.
