Hello Everyone,
My name is Vivaan Magarkar and I am 11. I love to do biking as a family activity. This year I decided to do the long-distance bike ride from Seattle to Portland (STP). That’s 206 miles with a 5000ft+ elevation. This will be the 1st STP for me and my mother (Girija Aathalye) and 2nd one for my father (Sanket Magarkar). I have been practicing twice a week since March to achieve this goal. Our training is sometimes fun, but not always. The best part of the ride for me is when it’s over; we eat something yummy.
For the past three months, my Saturdays have become Saddle days, and I have already put 600+ miles on my bike. After every ride, I ask myself and my parents why I am doing this. No kidding! What keeps us going is the bigger idea of raising funds for a good cause and sharing its story (Look at my T-shirt). Asha means hope in Hindi. I feel proud to contribute to charitable organization dedicated to providing basic education to underprivileged children throughout India.
