Team Asha Climbing Program helps individuals to train and get ready physically and mentally for the climbs. The climbs to these peaks are guided and our guiding partner is Adventure Tripr. The participants get to form new friends and have a feel of a community while learning trail etiquette, training regime, new skills such as traveling on snow, rock, climbs to Camp Muir, atop Mount Adams in their training plan before climbing their objective climbs listed below.

Skill/Fitness Needs Snow skills, Previous mountaineering experience, Backpacking experience (2)(3)

 

  • Day 1: 
  • ○ Drive from Seattle to Whitney Portal Hostel in the center of Lone Pine ○ Introductions, pack check and carpooling to White Portal ○ Hike / snowshoe to first camp ○ Setup Camp, practice some skills and dinner 
  • Day 2: 
  • ○ Hike up the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek to Lower Boy Scout Lake and then on to Upper Boy Scout Lake ○ You may camp here or place high camp at Iceberg Lake at 12,400 feet. ○ Hydrate, eat and sleep early 
  • Day 3: 
  • ○ Depending on conditions, hike up to high camp or take a buffer day for conditions and weather, if needed and use it to practice snow skills and self care refresh ○ Hydrate, eat and sleep early 
  • Day 4: 
  • ○ Climb up the Mountaineers Gully and summit (Summit 14,505 feet) ○ After your summit you will either hike down all the way to the winter closure gate / to your cars or till the Iceberg Lake camp ○ Hydrate, eat and sleep early 
  • Day 5: 
  • ○ Climb down to base camp ○ Pack up tents & hike down to the TH, drive back to Seattle

  • Day 1: 
    •  Drive from Seattle to a pre-agreed place near Mt. Shasta to meet the guides
    • Group briefing and pack check
    • Drive to the Bunny Flat trailhead (6950 feet) and hike to base camp. Distance: 2.5-3.5 miles, Elevation gain: 1,500-2,500 feet
    • Setup Camp and prepare for snow school.
    • Early Dinner followed by evening briefing and sleep early
  • Day 2: 
    •  Wake up around 12:00am-1:00am for an alpine start 
    • Hike 3 miles to the Summit (Elevation gain: approx. 5,000 feet) and then return back to Base Camp
    • Take a quick break, pack up tents and start your descent back to the Bunny Flat trailhead. Distance: 5.5 miles (back to the trailhead), Elevation Loss: 7,300 feet ○ Drive back to Seattle

  • Day 1: 
    • Meet up with the guides and other participants at a predetermined time and place
    •  Gear-up and start climbing by around 12 or 1am
    •  Reach upper-mountain by sunrise, then make the summit push to 11,249 feet in the early morning light
    • After summit and a short break, head back down

(1) The $125 Asha service cost is non refundable
(1+) In case the registered participant cannot attend this objective hike, s/he shall pledge to raise a minimum of $600. This will be waived for documented medical emergencies only. No exceptions.

(2) The participant/athlete should commit to train and be ready for 4 mile trail at a pace of 2 mph with a gain of 3000 feet in a day and with a 30 lb-backpack on them.
(3) The participant/athlete should also train to be able to hike about 14 miles in a day at a pace of 2 mph with a total gain of 7000 feet wearing a 40 lb-backpack at the start of the day.
(4) Above timeline is subject to change depending on the weather considerations.
(5) The route selection is solely decided by our guiding partner depending on the snow conditions on the mountain and that may be deem necessary based on hazard evaluations considered for the trip.
