I fell in love with the mountains soon after I moved to Seattle. My outdoors experience started with “couch climbing” – in comfort of my own living room while reading classics related to mountaineering. Over the last few years I have done various hikes in PNW, completed a half marathon and a full marathon. My goal in 2017 is to climb Mt. Rainier. Why climb Mt. Rainier? Because it is there! It is a privilege to witness such a beauty of nature in our own backyard and be one with the mountain by climbing it. That is of course if the mountain permits.
Asha:
Asha is a non-profit voluntary organization. Asha’s mission is to catalyze socio-economic change in India through the education of under-privileged children. Asha has over 50 chapters in USA/Europe. GRAVIS
Founded in 1983, GRAVIS works in the most impoverished and remote parts in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. Core areas of GRAVIS’ work are water conservation, agriculture and forestry, healthcare, primary education, training and capacity building. Working with women in order to empower them has been an important aspect of organization’s overall approach.

I have committed to raise minimum 750$ for Asha on top of my own contributions. Please note that all my climbing related expenditures (climbing gears, guide fees, permits, travel) are self-funded. 100% of your donations will go to Asha and are tax exempted. No amount is a small amount. $20-$30 will fund one month of a child’s education and living expense in India.
