We both joined in Asha for Education running team with $600 fund raising commitment before this December 2016. This team signed up for June 18th Rock n Roll half marathon. Training for and running the half marathon is our way of demonstrating the commitment we have to Asha and it’s cause of working at the grassroots of poor Indian communities for socio-economic upliftment.
Why Asha?
Asha is the only “Zero overhead” organization we came across, Asha is completely driven by volunteers (including the administrative expenses) ensuring 100% of your donations are sent to our partner groups in India. Beginning as an organization working to bring education to underprivileged children, Asha’s mission today has grown to rejuvenating the entire community these children live in and holistically bettering not just their own lives but those of their families as well.
As part of this program, we run every Sunday and deposit 6-9 miles into Asha’s account.
