Hello! I am Ashwini and I am excited to be biking 204 miles from Seattle to Portland as part of STP this July.
This is my second time with a long-distance ride and it has been a lot of fun riding, training, huffing and puffing on the bike trails of Pacific Northwest every week since March. Also, I am very happy that this provides me an opportunity to raise donations for ‘Asha for Education’, a charitable organization that primarily focuses on the education of underprivileged kids in India.
Please help me reach my modest goal of raising $500 with any contribution you can make. Every dollar donated makes a huge difference for so many children. You can read more about the projects from Seattle Chapter.
Why Asha?
Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education of underprivileged children in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. They work with a variety of project partners and community groups in many educational and development related endeavors.
Why you?
It is amazing how far a dollar can go in helping those people who struggle each day for the most basic necessities of life (food, water and a roof to live under). Consider this:
$10 per month will help a child get basic education
$19 per month will cover the education and living expenses of a child with disability
$40 per month will help support a primary school of about 25-30 children
All donations are tax deductible, and Asha is registered with many companies for donation-matching programs. Any contribution you make will help achieve these biking goals and go a long mile in bringing smiles, education, well-being and awareness to children and their communities.
So whatever you contribute, you can rest assured that every dollar will make a positive difference in someone’s life.
