As part of the volunteer team for TeamAsha Biking, I am responsible for designing our training plan, giving presentations on specific topics (informational, nutrition, bike apparel), leading groups on the ride, and optionally providing road support as needed (if I am not riding). I am also the point-of-contact for our apparel vendor Champion Systems. I have been volunteering for the team since 2011, but I have biked with the team since 2010. This role is the perfect blend of two things that I personally love – biking (as a sport and a fun activity), and supporting a good cause related to education (which is my profession). I strongly believe in Asha for Education’s mission of making change through education. One fun fact about me is that I love to dabble in art, and would consider myself as a designer-at-heart. I am also the designer behind the blue-and-white TeamAsha Seattle jerseys.
